On September 19, a 4-member delegation led by Mr. Sótonyi Péter Tamás, the rector of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (Hungary) visited SHVRI. Han Xuesong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of SHVRI, attended the exchange and delivered a speech. The two parties held in-depth discussions on further deepening cooperation in veterinary science and technology. Jiang Wei, Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Management Department, host the meeting.
Han Xuesong reviewed the vigorous development of bilateral relations between the two countries and pointed out that Hungary was the first European country which signing the intergovernmental cooperation document on the "Belt and Road Initiative" with China in 2015, marking the new stage in the strategic cooperation between the two countries. With a closer bilateral relationship of two countries, cooperation in the field of veterinary science and technology is embracing new development opportunities, and hopefully through this talk, the two parties will promote practical cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, personnel exchange, international projects and other aspects, jointly contribute to the global animal health and public health.
Sótonyi Péter Tamás first highly recognized the scientific research achievements of SHVRI, and then gave a detailed introduction of University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, with 239 years' history and one of the oldest university which focus on the veterinary medicine research area in Europe . Later on, he expressed the expectation to further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two parties through various forms such as mutual exchange of teachers and students and joint organization of academic conferences. Through complementary advantages and resource sharing, the two parties will jointly promote the innovation and development of global veterinary medicine.
This visit has not only deepened the mutual understanding between China and Hungary in the veterinary field, but also laid a solid foundation for carrying out all-round and multi-level scientific research cooperation in the future.
